on Sunday I called to set up a apointment for Monday. I was told there was a tech in our neighborhood and if I wanted he could stop by today and no additional cost.I was given a time frame of 2-4 and the tech arrived at 1.The tech looked at my door and explained the 25 yr old motor was on its last leg. He gave me a estimate that was acceptable and a good value.Within two hours the job was done and all was explained. My garage door arm from the door to the track broke off. It was 24 years old. Unfortunately parts no longer available. Grant Sagan had a new opener installed and all remotes programed and ready to go less than than an hour later. On a Sunday morning no less in freezing temps. I selected Precision Garage Door Service based on their rating with the BBB and their online reviews. I called at 8 am and Grant, the technician arrived around 10:30 am. He diagnosed the broken spring right away, then assessed the door and its opener. When he found out the opener was over 20 years old, he recommended we replace it as well. Grant gave us several options. My husband and I asked him what he would recommend. He gave us an option that was not the least expensive but not the most expensive, either. We believed it to be reasonable, so we took his suggestion. We now have a much quieter opener that should last several more years.

My opener was noisy, the spring was in poor shape and the tracks were out of alignment because I tried to open the door with a lock engaged. The outside weather gaskets were cut too short so they were not working at all. Grant Sagan, the technician from Precision Garage Door Service asked me to tell him what was going on.
