On Saturday, I gave up trying to get my “automatic” garage door open. After hearing the ads on tv, I called Precision. I was amazed when a technician showed up on time as scheduled, was very pleasant and fixed my garage door within an hour. What a relief. Charges were reasonable. Precision Door responded to our request and need to have our garage door motor replaced within the same day. Their technician (Shawn) was very professional. I called to ask for garage door broken spring repair. After I explained the situation, the lady who picked up the phone said the price could be around $90-$189 with no labor fee. Next day, Scott the technician came and estimate the cost for me, it went up to nearly $1000 for he said the company would not change that type of spring but my garage system (not include the automatic opener) needed to be changed. I decided not to have it done at the time, but I really appreciated the free estimation and Scott is a nice guy. Thank you.

So the repair team took care of the issue B4 any damage to structure or door. Repair was needed because your original installer used to short of lag screws, to mount railings to garage opening. One had fallen completely out of hardware. This what made me check the others. Found 4 or 5 more that had been overtightened and the lags were to short to begin with also. The repair lead kind of shook his head and apologized as he was replacing the short with new longer ones. Moral of the story; Quality of door was like advertised, and they made an error right....Always do your due diligence after any work, as a home owner !

Technician showed up for appointment on time, was courteous and explained conditions of the garage door and what was needed. Also took the time to go over what was done after the work was complete. My issues with Precision was that (1) they were not able to send someone out in an emergency when I couldn't open my garage door so that I could get to an appointment and (2) When asked, the technician stated that the warranty was transferrable and all that was needed was for the new owner to call in. This was important as I am thinking of downsizing and moving. The invoice I received after the repairs were done, stated the warranty was not transferrable. The door appears to be operating smoothly upon the technician's departure.

The second tech who arrived did an outstanding job. The first, less experienced tech said the house trim around the outside of the garage door needed to be moved, because it was hitting the garage door. When I asked for a second, more experienced tech, that tech adjusted the brackets on each side of the garage door on the interior side of the door to quickly resolve the problem. Both individuals were courteous and cooperative.
